In 1964 they started their own folk club just over the Somerset border in Yeovil and guests from all over the country, and sometimes from foreign parts, would visit. The most famous of these was Paul Simon. 'His fee was £7 but we paid him £10 because we thought he was good. Well! He was!' they recall.
Offers soon started pouring in for The Yetties to travel to clubs far and wide and in 1967 the decision was made to turn, what they laughingly call, professional. Since then the work has continued with hardly a break and there always seems to be some interesting project around the corner. Their music has taken the group round the world a couple of times but their roots are well and truly planted still in Dorset.
